Resources for Historians Annual Conferences The Gilder Lehrman Center hosts an annual international conference topics related to slavery, resistance and abolition. David Brion Davis Lecture Series The Annual David Brion Davis Lecture Series in the History of Slavery, Race, and Their Legacies, honors Sterling Professor Emeritus of History, and the founder of the Gilder Lehrman Center, David Brion Davis. The Center will combine each year to publish the three lectures in a series of books with Yale University Press. Frederick Douglass Book Prize The Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Resistance, and Abolition presents a $25,000 award for the most outstanding nonfiction book published in English on the subject of slavery and/or abolition and antislavery movements. Publishers and authors are invited to submit books that meet these criteria. Fellowship Information Postdoctoral Fellowship Program of the GLC is designed to support both established and younger scholars in researching projects that can be linked to the aims of the center. Four-month and one-month fellowships are available for the academic year. Summer Graduate Research Fellowships of the Gilder Lehrman Center provide funding to Yale graduate students for research projects on slavery, resistance, abolition, or their legacies.
